COMING SOON!

_____Though she implored Sonny to stay away from her, Brenda found herself once again drawn to his side when he was mysteriously injected with heroin and almost died. As he was whisked into the emerency room at GH, Sonny expressed his love to Brenda. Weeks later Sonny and Brenda were together again - trapped in a cave by a vengeful mobster who blamed Brenda for Lily's death. The ex-lovers, certain that they would die, made love for the first time in almost two years.
_____"I love you. It's the only thing in my life I've ever really known. And I don't know whether it's right or wrong. But it's real. I love you," Brenda tenderly admitted to Sonny. As they pledged their love for each other, Sonny was convinced that Brenda was finally his again, but still she was torn.
_____Upon their rescue, Brenda made a difficult decision to leave Jax but not to be with Sonny. Instead, she chose to move out on her own. Brenda needed time to sort out her turbulent life while she recovered from a lingering dependence on prescription painkillers. Once free of her addiction, Brenda enjoyed a newfound clarity. She realized that Sonny was the only man for her. Jax, understanding her decision, let Brenda go - and she went straight to the Port Charles docks to find the man she belonged with all along - Sonny. Together they faced danger in the form of Lily's father, Rivera, who tried to exact revenge on Sonny and Brenda for the death of his beloved daughter. This time the peril united Brenda and Sonny instead of driving them apart.
_____Rivera gave Sonny and Brenda twenty minutes to say their final good-byes. Brenda couldn't believe her ears when Sonny proposed with words she never expected to hear.
"You're asking me to marry you?" she asked.
"I mean it," repsonded Sonny. "I love you. And I want you to be my wife."
"You know, since the day I met you, this is the only thing I ever wanted you to say to me," a tearful Brenda responded.
_____After this hearfelt moment, Rivera held a gin to Brenda's head, and Sonny heroically shot him dead before he could kill her. The wait was over - at last Sonny and Brenda could be together. Back in Port Charles, Sonny decided to make it official.
_____"I've waited for a lot of things in my life," he admitted to Brenda as he got down on one knee. "To grow up. To get respect. To get over... things. But the hardest waiting I ever had to do was the waiting I had to do for you. Will you marry me?"
_____"I was born to be Mrs. Corinthos," Brenda answered as Sonny slipped his mother's engagement ring on her finger.
_____With the threat of mafia retribution to their marriage, Sonny and Brenda agreed that he would leave the mob, and, together with his new wife, leave Port Charles forever just after the wedding ceremony. They were given up everything to be together. Sonny trained his best man, Jason, to take over his mob duties. But as Brenda dizzily planned their wedding, danger once again lurked around the corner - and Sonny knew it. Just days before the wedding, he received yet another threat from his mob enemies. There was another hit out on him! Now even if they departed Port Charles, how could Sonny possibly keep Brenda safe?
_____As the wedding day drew near, Brenda ignored all the warning signs, trusting in Sonny's love. At the same time, Sonny's persistent nightmare made him grow more conflicted about the future. He agonized over what this marriage would do to the woman he loved. He had already buried one wife, and he couldn't bear to see Brenda pay the ultimate price for loving him. The only thing more important to Sonny than his love for Brenda was her safety. Finally the big day was here... would Sonny break Brenda's heart?
_____

Ultimately, Sonny would break Brenda's heart. As she stood at the altar she heard a door open and thought it was Sonny. She turned with a smile on her face to see Jason. She asked if Sonny was hurt and Jason said no. He told a heartbroken Brenda Sonny had left town and was not coming back.

WORDS OF LOVE
Sonny Formally Proposes to Brenda

SONNY
(on bended knee)
Will you be my wife?

BRENDA
I can't believe that you're on your knees. That you're asking me to marry you. And that we're not even facing certain death.

SONNY
They way I see it, you have three options. Yes. No. Or maybe.

BRENDA
There really is no other option for me. Yes. You know I'll be your wife.
